JFK's HEROIC STAND FOR WORLD FREEDOM

Executive Order 11110 AMENDMENT OF EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 10289

AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE PERFORMANCE OF CERTAIN FUNCTIONS AFFECTING THE DEPARTMENT OF THE TREASURY

By virtue of the authority vested in me by section 301 of title 3 of the United States Code, it is ordered as follows:

Section 1. Executive Order No. 10289 of September 19, 1951, as amended, is hereby further amended-

By adding at the end of paragraph 1 thereof the following subparagraph (j):

(j) The authority vested in the President by paragraph (b) of section 43 of the Act of May 12,1933, as amended (31 U.S.C.821(b)), to issue silver certificates against any silver bullion, silver, or standard silver dollars in the Treasury not then held for redemption of any outstanding silver certificates, to prescribe the denomination of such silver certificates, and to coin standard silver dollars and subsidiary silver currency for their redemption

and --

By revoking subparagraphs (b) and (c) of paragraph 2 thereof.

Sec. 2. The amendments made by this Order shall not affect any act done, or any right accruing or accrued or any suit or proceeding had or commenced in any civil or criminal cause prior to the date of this Order but all such liabilities shall continue and may be enforced as if said amendments had not been made.

John F. Kennedy The White House, June 4, 1963.

     Executive Order 12608 (part of below), signed on 9/9/1987 by President Reagan, seems to nullify Executive Order 11110 by revoking the part of Executive Order 10289 that it refers to.  I have yet to figure if there is an additional significance to Reagan being shot years before E.O. 12608.  JFK was shot five and a half months after he signed the above Executive Order.  I was ran into by a cab 9 years and 9 months after the 5/7/98 Kennedy shelter briefing on my way home from work.  There was no apparent damage to my vehicle.

Sec. 4. Executive Order No. 10289, as amended, is further amended as follows:

(a) In Section 1(c), by deleting the words ``section 2 of the Act of August 18, 1914, c. 256, 38 Stat. 699 (46 U.S.C. 82),'' and inserting in lieu thereof ``section 1 of the Act of August 26, 1985, Public Law 98 - 89, 97 Stat. 510 (46 U.S.C. 3101);'' and by deleting the words ``survey, inspection, and measurement of'' and inserting in lieu thereof ``the inspection of.''

(b) In Section 1(d), by deleting the words ``(46 U.S.C. 104),'' and inserting in lieu thereof ``(46 U.S.C. Appendix 104),'';

(c) In Section 1(e), by deleting the words ``(46 U.S.C. 134),'' and inserting in lieu thereof ``(46 U.S.C. Appendix 134),'';

(d) In Section 1(f), by deleting the words ``(46 U.S.C. 141),'', ``(46 U.S.C. 121),'' and ``(46 U.S.C. 146),'' and inserting in lieu thereof ``(46 U.S.C. Appendix 141),'' ``(46 U.S.C. Appendix 121),'' and ``(46 U.S.C. Appendix 146),'';

(e) By revoking Sections 1(g) and 1(j), and renumbering Sections 1(h) and 1(i) as Sections 1(g) and 1(h), respectively;

     Between Executive Order 10289 (That JFK added to and lost his life 5 and a half months later) and Executive Order 12608 (deleting the part of 10289 that JFK added to and therefore JFK's order) there was 35 years, 11 months, and 21 days-or 431 months and 21 days (9/19/51-9/9/87).  11/21 was the day before JFK's shooting in 1963.  Shouldn't we infer, even from the duration between the two orders, that without JFK's order his death wouldn't have happened?  There is a business called "Peace" School located at 3121 Lincoln Avenue here in Chicago.  4 3121, apparently we can have "peace". "...greater American sacrifices...(as President Carter's National Security Advisor once admitted)", and so much for USA & world freedom!
